Sony 70-200mm f/2.8 GM Lens

Sony 70-200mm f/2.8 GM Lens

The Sony 70-200mm f/2.8 GM is the Sony G Master edition of the classic 70-200mm telephoto zoom. It combines fast autofocus, powerful stabilization, and precision optics sealed in a sleek weather-resistant body with great ergonomics. It covers full frame sensors like the Sony A7s III, but is equally at home on Super 35mm sensors with a 1.6x crop. While the 70-200mm range began as a still photography staple, the advanced autofocus performance also translates well to modern Sony video cameras like the Sony FX lineup.

The Sony 70-200mm f/2.8 GM is FE/E mount, and will fit all modern Sony Alpha cameras. It has 77mm front filter threads.

Frequently this lens is rented with two partner lenses in the G Master series, the Sony 24-70mm f2.8 GM and Sony 16-35mm f/2.8 GM zoom lenses.

This lens has been replaced in the G Master series with the Sony 70-200mm f/2.8 GM II, which offers moderately lighter weight and better close-focusing performance in an otherwise similar lens. As the original 70-20mm f/2.8 GM lens is still a popular zoom lens, we carry it as a more affordable rental option.
