1k Variac
The 1k Variac dimmer (variable auto-transformer) is a voltage-lowering dimmer that provides smooth dimming from 100% to black out. Due to its design, the 1k variac is an excellent tool for precision dimming of tungsten lights up to 1000 watts, but is not recommended for use with LEDs or other electronic devices.
