Arri LDS Ultra Primes combine the already great Ultra Prime series, with the added benefit of Arri’s Lens Data System (LDS) which provides valuable lens metadata embedded in image files. These are lightweight standard speed lenses that are a perfect match to the higher-speed Master Primes, offering the same high contrast and reduced flares. Ultra Primes scales can easily and clearly be read from both sides, as can the focal length.
Their close focus ability keeps your image sharp across the entire frame with little focus breathing making them an excellent choice for challenging set-ups that require the camera and subject in close proximity. The LDS Ultra Prime series consists of ARRI Ultra Prime optical elements transplanted into specially designed housings that allow each lens to communicate with the camera electronically, easing tasks on set and providing valuable metadata for postproduction.
