ARRI Alexa 35
The ARRI ALEXA 35 is a Super 35 cinema camera boasting a new 3:2 4K ALEV 4 sensor that delivers unmatched dynamic range, improved performance in low light, and richer, more accurate color reproduction. Compact and easy to operate, the Alexa 35 offers both MXF/ARRIRAW and MXF/Apple ProRes capture, in resolutions up to 4.6K and frame rates up to 120p. The ALEV 4 improves on the previous Alexa sensors by adding 2.5 stops of dynamic range, while supporting Reveal color science, Arri Textures, and integrating easily into an ACES workflow. The Arri Alexa 35 can capture true 4k, UHD 16:9, and open gate, which is well-suited to anamorphic lenses and multi-aspect ratio capture.
Like every modern Arri camera, the Arri Alexa 35 includes all the expected features for on-set connectivity. The PL mount supports LBUS, and LPL, EF, and M-mounts are available. Control the camera through the viewfinder or Arri Control app, or add the Arri CCM-1 camera control monitor. The Alexa 35’s operator-side displays camera status without requiring an EVF, making it easier to use in complex mounting and rigging situations. The assistant side of the camera includes two EVF ports, for more control options than the Alexa Mini LF. The Alexa 35 has two 12G-SDI outputs, timecode in/out; and provides 12v and 24V accessory power. The camera has two built-in mics and one 6-pin LEMO input for audio. The 3.5mm headphone jack is located on the EVF. The camera is also compatible with the AEM-1 audio module. The Arri Alexa 35 uses the same viewfinder/EVF unit and media as the Alexa Mini LF, making the two cameras well-suited to work together on set. Our Alexa 35 rental kits use 26v gold mount batteries, for easy interoperability with existing equipment. The Alexa 35 body with LPL mount weighs 6.4 pounds.
