The 2k Variac (variable auto-transformer) is a voltage lowering dimmer that provides smooth dimming from full-on to black out. Due to its design the 2k variac is an excellent tool for precision dimming of tungsten fixtures up to 2,000 watts, but is not recommended for use with LEDs or other electronic devices.
